Caitlin & Stuart’s Relaxed Simply You Wedding Ceremony in Melbourne
If you like the idea of a wedding ceremony that feels relaxed, meaningful, and genuinely you - without the pressure of long vows or formal structure - Caitlin and Stuart’s Simply You ceremony is a beautiful example of how powerful a short ceremony can be.
Held at an iconically Melbourne venue and recently featured on Hello May, their day was full of warmth, connection, and quality time with their people.
A Laid-Back Start with a Very Melbourne Feel
Caitlin and Stuart’s guests arrived to pre-ceremony drinks, canapés, and plenty of chatting and mingling — all set to the sound of bagpipes playing in the background. It immediately set the tone: relaxed, connected, and celebratory.
Rather than making a big formal entrance, Caitlin and Stuart arrived together, taking time to say hello to their family and friends before we gathered everyone for the ceremony. It was intentional, unhurried, and grounded in connection which was exactly what they wanted.
A Simply You Ceremony: Short, Meaningful, and Full of Heart
Their Simply You ceremony was a 10-minute celebration focused on the essence of their life together.
We spoke about:
The solid, steady bond they share
Their deep love for their dog, Tilly, who was right there with us
And the true test of their relationship: Caitlin teaching Stuart how to ski
(He passed - relationship intact!)
Instead of writing personal vows, Caitlin and Stuart chose to say just the legal line. No pressure, no performance, just a quiet, profound moment that felt completely right for them.
A Ceremony That Involved Everyone
One of the most fun moments came at the end, when their guests were invited to loudly and enthusiastically say “I do”to Caitlin and Stuart! Promising to support them, celebrate with them, and party the night away.
It was energetic, inclusive, and full of laughs - a reminder that a wedding ceremony doesn’t have to be long to be deeply meaningful.
Why Short Wedding Ceremonies Work So Well
Caitlin and Stuart’s day is a perfect example of why more couples are choosing short and sweet wedding ceremonies:
They keep guests engaged and present
They leave more space for connection and free flowing celebrations
They remove pressure around being the centre of attention
They focus on what really matters - the commitment and the connection, not the performance
A Simply You ceremony is ideal for couples planning:
Micro weddings
Relaxed Melbourne weddings
Elopements or intimate celebrations
Ceremonies where quality time with guests is a priority
A Beautiful Melbourne Wedding Day
Their incredible wedding team brought everything together seamlessly:

And of course, Caitlin and Stuart themselves - calm, fun, and completely present - all made the day what it was.
