Max and Alex’s Relaxed Wedding Ceremony at Old Palm Liquor, Brunswick East

Max and Alex chose a Simply You wedding ceremony - a short, heartfelt ceremony celebrating their relationship and the people they love.

They chose Old Palm Liquor in Brunswick East, with its warm, cosy atmosphere and fabulous inner-city bar vibes, and planned a wedding that was all about enjoying the whole experience together.

Their wedding is a great example of just how much flexibility there is in how a ceremony can look and feel.

They'd spent time together earlier in the day with Kat and Scout of It’s Beautiful Here photography having their first-look photos taken, so by the time guests arrived, Max and Alex were already feeling relaxed, connected and ready to celebrate.

As everyone gathered at Old Palm Liquor, drinks were flowing, people were mingling and there was such an excited buzz in the room. And their wedding party got to be part of that too. They arrived with everyone else, enjoyed the pre-ceremony catch-ups, and when it was time to begin, I showed them where to stand up the front.

Alex walked in with her parents to an enormous round of cheers from everyone gathered. It was such a fabulous welcome and a wonderful way to begin their ceremony.

We shared some heartfelt acknowledgements of their families and the people who had shaped their lives, reflected on the essence of Max and Alex's relationship, and celebrated the commitment they were making to one another.

It was personal, warm and full of connection, with plenty of smiles and some really lovely moments for Max, Alex and their guests.

Their ceremony felt like a gathering we were all part of. A big conversation celebrating Max and Alex, rather than a performance or a formality.

A few days after their wedding, Max and Alex shared some lovely feedback they'd received from their guests. People had been telling them how the ceremony brought all the love into the room, how warm and cosy it felt, and how it set the tone for the whole celebration!

Oysters, Champagne and Marriage Certificates!

Once Max and Alex were officially married, everyone was ready to keep the celebrations going!

While the drinks were flowing and their guests were celebrating, we took a quick minute to pop into the front bar to sign their marriage certificates.

With oysters, champagne and a moment to raise a glass together, it was such a lovely way to sign their marriage certificates.

I really loved how Max and Alex had planned their day. Their ceremony brought everyone together to celebrate their marriage, and then the party continued around them.

It was relaxed, heartfelt, fun and so perfectly suited to the way they wanted to celebrate.
